Purpose
This policy outlines the terms and conditions governing refunds for online certificate programs of IIT Jammu offered through I3C-IIT Jammu. By enrolling in a program, applicants agree to abide by this policy.
Definitions
2.1 Program Fee
The total fee mutually agreed upon between I3C-IIT Jammu and the EdTech Partner for enrollment in a specific online certificate program.
2.2 Registration Fee
A non-refundable administrative fee equal to 1% of the total Program Fee, payable at the time of registration, by the candidates.
2.3 Down Payment
Any payment exceeding the Registration Fee but less than the full Program Fee.
2.4 Program Commencement
Program commencement refers to the officially notified start date of the academic instruction, including orientation or the first scheduled learning session, whichever occurs earlier.
General Refund Principle
- All refunds, where applicable, shall be processed after deducting the Registration Fee.
- Refunds shall be processed net of applicable taxes, as taxes once collected and remitted are non-refundable under statutory regulations.
- In loan cases, any applicable subvention, financial assistance, administrative charges, or processing charges by the financier shall be deducted from the refundable amount.
- Except as explicitly stated in this policy, all fees paid are non-refundable.
Refunds in Case of Withdrawal by Participant
4.1 Withdrawal Before Program Commencement
- More than 10 days before the program start date: 100% refund of the Program Fee (excluding Registration Fee) after applicable deduction as per the current policy.
- Within 10 days prior to the program start date: 80% refund of the Program Fee (excluding Registration Fee) after applicable deduction as per the current policy.
4.2 Withdrawal After Program Commencement
No refund shall be provided once the program has commenced.
Program Cancellation, Deferral, or Admission Decision
5.1 Program Cancellation or Deferral by I3C-IIT Jammu
I3C-IIT Jammu reserves the right to cancel, defer, or reschedule (including preponing or postponing) a program due to academic, administrative, operational, or other institutional reasons.
In the event that the program is cancelled, deferred, or rescheduled, participants shall be duly informed. If a participant is unable to attend the program due to such changes in the schedule, they may request a withdrawal and shall be entitled to a full refund of all fees paid, including the Registration Fee and applicable taxes.
5.2 Application Rejection
If an applicant's admission is not approved by I3C-IIT Jammu, a full refund of all fees paid, including the Registration Fee, shall be issued.
Compassionate Grounds
Refund requests arising from serious and unavoidable circumstances preventing participation may be considered on compassionate grounds. Such cases:
- Shall be reviewed individually.
- Must be supported by verifiable documentation, if any.
- Shall be subject to the decision of I3C-IIT Jammu, which shall be final and binding.
Non-Transferability
Except as explicitly stated in this policy, program fees are:
- Non-transferable,
- Non-adjustable to other programs or cohorts, and
- Non-assignable to another participant.
Refund Processing Timeline
Approved refunds shall be processed within 30 working days from the date of Program Commencement, post approval of the refund request. Refunds shall be issued using the original mode of payment unless otherwise determined by I3C-IIT Jammu.
Submission of Refund Requests
All refund requests must be submitted to the EdTech partner in writing, who shall forward the request to the official program administration.
Requests must include:
- Participant name
- Program name
- Payment details
- Reason for refund request
- Supporting documentation (if applicable)
- Refund amount (breakup and supporting document)
Force Majeure
I3C-IIT Jammu shall not be held liable for failure or delay in performance of its obligations due to events beyond its reasonable control, including but not limited to natural disasters, governmental actions, public health emergencies, war, civil disturbances, or infrastructure failures. Refund decisions in such circumstances shall be made at the sole discretion of the institution.
